His John age 7 is my grandfathers bro. They were sons of Joseph Thomas Tinney and Mary F. Collins, Tinney of 1860 census, P.O. Oak Ridge area near to Greenville, Ala. If Isaac Tinney is the father of my greatfrandfather Joseph Thomas Tinney I wonder if little John could be buried near their residence? I hope to learn who are the parents pf Joseph. It seems I am against a brick wall in Meriwether Co. Ga. Mary Elizabeth Hill

Hello, What are the lookups you need for Chatham County ????? REGARDS, Brenda Peacock-Cohen
Does anyone have a clue? My Grandmother Elizabeth Jane said she was born in Rome GA to Robert W Montgomery (and Almarene Jane Smith) who was the son of Robert Montgomery and Mary (?), both born in GA. I have been unable to find the final resting places of these Roberts and their wives. The biggest puzzle, though, is Ari Montgomery; the family records show Ari to come from Scotland and die in Rome GA in 1870. I don't even know whether Ari is male or female (the mother or the father) of Robert. Any help would be dearly appreciated. Jim in Vero Beach FL
Please send dates Sincerely, Brenda Peacock-Cohen

Barbara - I have no idea who Elizabeth Hudspeth's father was - I can't find any info on her except that she was married to Moses Newton on October 15, 1793 and died on January 1, 1810. I think that Hudspeth may have been the name of a previous husband. They had seven children. This info [and more] was written down by their daughter, Grace Newton Lucas, my ggg grandmother. Are you related? Pat

My ancestor, Moses Newton, and possibly his wife, Elizabeth Hudspeth Newton, was buried, 08/26/1826, at Fenn's Bridge located on the Grange Highway just south west of Louisville near the Ogeechee River. Does anyone know anything about this cemetary - if anyone has been there, has any pictures, or could take any pictures, or has any info about this cemetary I would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for any help. Pat

I have just completed and added the survey of Lindsey Memorial Church Cemetery to the Whitfield County Web site at: http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/county/whitfield I also have partial surveys of several other cemeterys in Whitfield County online and more are being added almost daily. Many of these additions also include pics of the burial markers. Please stop by at your convenience and check us out. Any contributions that you would like to make are also welcome. Thanks, Paula
Everyone, While talking with Hollywood Cemetery, they told me that they have a web site with email ability! I thought you would like to know! I hope this helps. HollywoodCemetery.org

To geneh, I called Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA today. I was told that there are only 7000 soldiers named out of the 18000 buried there. Your John Davis was NOT one of them. I also called Blandford in Petersburg. NO luck there either. I am sorry that I wasn't able to find him for you! Good luck in your search. Neda in VA
Please see http://www.rootsweb.com/~fljackso/mindexes/cemeteries/index094.htm This says that Eva Jane McMullen Fox died in 1899 and is buried in the Oak City Cemetery, Bainbridge, Decatur Co., GA. Lowell in Alabama
I knew a Fox family that came from Madison, Florida.
Eva Jane McMullen [Mrs. Charles Wesley] Fox gave birth to her only child John Edward Fox on Nov. 7th 1899 in Ga. Unfortunately his death certificate does not say WHERE in Georgia, but I suspect it was near to the Florida line, as Eva Jane was born in Central Florida. by the time of the 1900 census [June 1900?] her husband was living in Orange County Fl with his parents , was widowed, and had with him their infant son Jack Fox, who was my mother's much loved first cousin. Jack grew up married and died in the 1970s without issue. I would loved to know where his mother is buried in [probably southernmost] Georgia. She would have died between Nov 7 1899 and June 1900 and I can't find her in Florida where her husbnd and son are so she is probably buried in GA. I will greatly appreciate any help. Thanks. Re- Wilson Henley Garmon: Thanks to everyone for you time and effort in searching for burial information. Chester Garmon
Eddie. Thanks for all the information. I doubt that I will ever find Wilson Garmon's grave. All I have is his neice stated he was buried in a Military Cemetery in Marietta, Ga. My line of Garmon's came from Laurens County, SC. My ggrandfather, Alfred Garmon, married Elizabeth Prince in Lumpkin County Ga. in 1836. Wilson Henley was their son. They had three other son's in the Civil War, Larkin Francis, Willis S. and James A. These three returned home and died in later years. I have seen Rachel Garmon's name in several places. I wonder if she was related to my line of Garmon's. Thanks again Chester Garmon ----- Original Message ----- From: Eddie Jones <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 09, 2002 12:43 AM Subject: Re: [GA-CEM] Ga.
