Claudia, There is a HENDRIX (JOHN) CEMETERY in Candler County, GA. There seem to be six graves there, and one of them is John Hendrix, born 09 Dec 1804, died 26 May 1890. Is this your guy, do you think? I can give you directions and tell you about the other graves if you'd like. I am looking for the burial site of Nancy Goodson Stark/Starks. She was born in Walton Coutny, Georgia. She lived in Clarke and I found her in the 1850 and 1860 census in Jackson County. I know she was alive in March of 1879. I have no death date or place of burial. Thank you in advance for any information. Sincerely, Stark Martin

Roy, You might try Franklin Garrett's cemetery listings. I know that the Marietta Library has a copy on microfilm as does the GA Archives. I don't recall off the top of my head what the formal title is, but he made an extensive listing of all cemeteries within a 25 mile radius of what once was Five Points in downtown Atlanta. I found several of my " lost" folks this way. One was in a remote family cemetery near Stone Mountain and the others in Palmetto. An added bonus was that since he began surveying the cemeteries in the late 1930s, the tombstones were still legible. Hope this helps, Carole ----- Original Message ----- From: Lynn B. The soldiers at the confederate cemetery in Marietta are all reintered from the war, mainly unidentified Ga. boys killed in action, or died in hospitals, during the campaigns fought in the area (Kennesaw Mt., Kolb's Farm etc.) It is quite possible however that W. Hunter is buried in either the "Veterans" section of the cemetery, or among the others. This is a rather large place. WES Lynn B. Cunningham wrote: >Warren G. Warren G. Hunter is not listed in the book "Confederate Veterans Interred in the Confederate Cemetery, Marietta, Georgia." I could not find his name listed in the Confederate portion of Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, either. If he died in 1882 in Atlanta, he could have been buried in any number of cemeteries, but might still have a Confederate marker.
