    3. This was great to know about. I have a Gordon County, GA {AHGP} site at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/county/gordon/ and have seen alot of unkept cemeteries and received some questions from people asking about who should be taking care of them. Could someone tell me where I could find out about the laws related to cemeteries so I see what could be done? 2. Bill Davis
    3. Hi, is there a list of those buried in various cemeteries in Randolph Co., GA. I am tracing the RAGAN surname and understand that there are several that lived in Randolph Co. Since I do not know who to look for, specifically, I know this is out of the ordinary. However, if anyone knows of such a list and where a copy would be available I would be appreciative. While I am seeking the impossible, is there such a list for Marion, Talbot, and Harris Co's? I know that there are lots of RAGAN people that lived in those counties. One specific name that I am searching for is James RAGAN and he would have died between the 1840 and 1850 census records, probably in one of the above counties. He is found in the 1840 census but not in the 1850. His wife, Elizabeth, is found with children in the 1850 Talbot Co. census but James has vanished! Most likely died during that period. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, Bill Davis [email protected]

    3. Heather, in a quick scan of death dates the oldest I see is 1868. However, there are quite a few graves with no dates, so the cemetery may have been used earlier than 1868. You might try going online and doing a Google search on "Lanes Primitive Baptist Church" and see if there's a website. The cemetery is not being taken care of my the current owners, Georgia Power and we would like to clean the cemetery in an effort to help those descendants find their families. The following people or families have been identified so far: Mary Catherine Skipper John P. Lewis J.F. Cain Sarah Watson Hill Jesse Hill Dicey Coggins Hill Charlotte I. Jones Hill Nancy "Mammy" (Vickery?) Jackson Mary Virginia Jackson Cole John W. Cole Margaret Hood Cole Bird Hopkins Miller Nix Warren Watson There has been a temporary mailing list set up for all of those who are interested in helping with the research and preservation of the cemetery. If you think you might be interested: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ClappCemetery/ Please keep in mind we don't know exactly who is buried there or where in the cemetery they are buried. THERE ARE NO RECORDS. Please do not ask me if your family members are there, I don't know. I only have some information on the people listed above and it is limited. Thanks for any support that you can give us this cemetery. Kemis Massey

    1. [GA-CEM] Henry A. Waller between 1864 and 1870
    2. ourhome2
    3. Thank you for all you do for us seeking our ancestors! Do you have a Henry A. Waller listed anywhere? I know he was alive in part of 1864 because he conceived a child who was born in July 1865 in Spalding County. But he is no longer on the census with wife Harriet and children in the Census of 1870 in Barnesville, Pike County. Someone suggested he may have been killed in the Civil War as there is a Henry A. Waller from Georgia listed on the Confederate Soldiers list. Confederate soldier service records do not give genealogical information, only service information. There is no application for pension for him or his wife, Harriet. Therefore, even if I was able to get a service record for this man, I could not connect him to Harriet Waller. I'm hoping he will turn up on cemetery records with a connection to Harriet. His location history so far is: Putnam County marriage in 1853 to Harriet Dyer; Monroe County in 1860 Census with wife and 2 children; Spalding County in 1864 as he conceived a child born in 1865. Even though there are records for those 3 counties; I don't know which county he was born in or which county he died in. Thank you for your time and lookups! Barbara

    1. [GA-CEM] From List Mom - If you are changing E-Mail Addresses.
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, With so many of you changing e-mail address I figured it was time to send instructions as to how to remove yourself from one address and then subscribe again with the new one. I have over 50 messages asking me to do this for members. If you know in advance that your e-mail address is going to change go to Password Central http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ ask for a list of all the Mailing Lists you are subscribed to. Don't forget to submit your request at the bottom of the page. When you get your e-mail in about 1 minute you need to print it out so you know what lists you belonged to so you can re-subscribe. From the e-mail you can unsubscribe yourself from any or all of the mailing lists. or Just send the word UNSUBSCRIBE to [email protected] (Change NAMEOFLIST to the name of the list and change L to D if you are on the Digest List) When you are ready to re-subscribe all you need to do is send the word SUBSCRIBE to [email protected] (Change NAMEOFLIST to the name of the list and change L to D if you want to subscribe to the Digest List.) If you loose your e-mail address and are unable to unsubscribe yourself, then let me know and I will help. You can re-subscribe yourself to the list with the above instructions. I appreciate your help and thank each of you for helping to make our list the success it is.
