John was born in Ireland in March of 1788, and immigrated to America in 1814. The family lived in this part of Maine for 40 years, and then relocated to Webster county, Iowa. His wife's name was Mary, and some of his children were Eleanor, Richard and Sarah. There were older children whose names I do not know.
