Surnames: Furlong Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GZX.2ACEB/226 Message Board Post: Looking for the families of my grandfather, John Henry Furlong, m Mary Agnes Cartwright 1906, had 12 children, 11 survived to adulthood. Family lore says that he was one of 7 brothers who immigrated to this country from India where his Irish father was in the English Army. Supposedly my grandfather was born on the trip in 1879. I know of one brother, Austin Furlong who lived in Norwich, CT as an adult. He had three children, one daughter was named Honor. He died in Maine, I think in the 1950-s or 60-s. The other five brothers were never known to this branch of the family, I recall as a young child a visit from a cousin of my father's named "King" Furlong, who visited Providence with his son, Joseph during the 1950's. Anyone with any information, I'd appreciate some help.
