Hi Lonna Long time no speak! I don't remember a Thomas P Furlong when we were coresponting. Was he a Pembrokeshire or US Furlong? If the former can you let me have further details and I will try to find him for you. Bye for now Joy
My Furlong line comes from Pembrokeshire Wales initially, but many of them scattered into England, and some to Australia and America. Do you know who Thomas's parents were? In my line there are John's, William's, George's and Thomas's, as well as an occasional James. We have traced back 6 generations from me. I'm still trying to find a cousin of mine in England, Stephanie Neale, whose mother was Corinne Morby who married Norman R.E. Neale. They lived in Southam, Warrickshire. Stephanie and I wrote letters as children, and I would so love to find her now. If she has married, I don't know her married name, nor does she know mine. The generations look like this: Ishmael & Mary Furlong - Cosheston, Pembroke Wales Their son John Furlong & Elizabeth Butler (Cosheston) Their son James Furlong & Anne Williams (Cosheston) Their son Lewis Furlong & Emma Ashton (Cosheston) Their daughter: Jane Furlong (Cosheston & Pembroke Dock) Their daughter: Rose Elizabeth Furlong m William John Morby (Southam, Warrickshire) Their daughter: Corrine Monica Lily Morby m Norman R.E. Neale Their daughter: Stephanie Neale My grandmother was Lizzie Furlong, Jane's sister, who emigrated to America in 1903. If anyone with a link or near-link to these Furlongs could help me find my cousin, please do! Lonna Poland Texas, USA

My Joseph T. Furlong was born @1857 in @St. Johns, NF. I've not found his Baptismal info yet but his death cert said his father was Thomas J. Furlong. I do not consider that DC reliable as other info on the cert was wrong. However, family lore has Joe upset when his son Thomas J Furlong didn't give Joe's name until his fourth son and didn't use the T. I believe Joe named his first son Thomas J after his father. He named his second son Joseph following the old Irish way. Thomas J. Furlong Born in Ireland? Joseph T Furlong Born in St. Johns? m Agnes Kavanagh Born on Belle Isle Thomas J. Furlong Born/Baptised in St. Johns When Joseph married Agnes, she had been living in Torbay. The minister in the Basilica was the parish priest in Torbay for a number of years. Any clues to Joseph's ancestry would be appreciated. There are also hundreds of Furlongs listed on my Furlong page. judy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Judy Picard ===========================> judypicard@Old-Irish.com Furlong site ======================> http://Best-spot.com/Furlong Normore site ======================> http://Best-spot.com/Normore Normore Messages Group ===================>http://yahoogroups.com The Geberts ==========================> http://Best-spot.com/Gebert Gebert Messages Group ====================>http://yahoogroups.com Kelly Brown Coulter ===============> http://w3.tvi.cc.nm.us/~judyp ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I will check with relatives and see if I can find a connection there. Thanks for your reply. Maureen

e > 1880 census of Arkansas Co., AR he listed as born in Ireland. Family > tradition has him born in Ireland and coming to America at age 3. > > Betty It's been awhile since this Furlong list has had any activity.. I don't think there are many of us on the list. There were lots of Furlongs living in the Wexford area in Ireland. In fact that is where most of the Furlong's who immigrated from Ireland came from. Have you searched through the IGI online yet for him? Lonna
Would appreciate any help on a Pierce Furlong b. Ireland, 1790 and wife India b.Ireland, 1806. They appear in the 1840 census of Madison Co., IL and again in 1850 census of Madison Co., IL. Sons William b. Ire. 1826, James b. Ire/IL, 9 Aug. 1834, John b. IL, 1840, Thomas b. IL, 1842 and Pierce, Jr. (Peter) b. IL, 1842. Pierce Furlong was listed as a farmer in the Upper Alton area of Madison Co. Son James was living in Alton in 1850 census as an apprenticed saddler. Both parents not found in 1860 census but sons John, Thomas and Peter (?) were living together on a farm in Upper Alton. Son James was married and living in Cooper Co., MO in 1860 census and working as a saddler. James was listed as having been born in IL in 1850 and 1860 census but the 1880 census of Arkansas Co., AR he listed as born in Ireland. Family tradition has him born in Ireland and coming to America at age 3. Betty
Hello FURLONGs My ancestors are mainly from Pembrokeshire, but some are from Luton, Bolton, Salford - do you have connections with these places? Anndy FURLONG
Hello FURLONG fans I am researching my FURLONG ancestory which goes back to Fermoy, County Cork, Ireland. My ancestors were corn merchants in the early 1900s but Noel Furlong moved to England where he married Rosemary St John MURPHY at Marylebone, London. Noel FURLONG was the owner and trainer of 'Reynoldstown' who won the 1935 & 1936 Grand National at Aintree, Liverpool. If you know anything about these FURLONG people, please contact me. Andy Furlong (Harrow, Middx)
I am seeking information on the family of the following: Patrick FURLONG b. ? Ireland > Illinois married Mary WARD b.? daughter Mary Ellen FURLONG b. Dec.30, 1873 Ireland d. April 11, 1963 Mifflin Township, Wyandot County, Ohio, USA married circa 1904 Frank A. FREY The source of the above information is Mary Ellen's Death Certificate. I realize it's not much to go on but it's all I've got at present. Family sources say that Mary Ellen FURLONG moved to Ohio from Illinois, Chicago area. She was also a nurse. I do not know if the family moved with her. She was the second wife of Frank A. FREY, and he was still married to first wife in 1900 Census. Mary Ellen FURLONG is my g grandmother, and this is a brick wall at present for me. If anyone has information of this family, please email me, thanks. Jane 5irwins@sgi.net
