    2. Charles Stewart
    3. My Fuqua line follows. All information, except for some of the exact birth, death and marriage dates, is from family records. My 3rd great grandfather was Joseph Fuqua. He was born January 1, 1779 in Bedford Co., Virginia, and died June 16, 1831 in Henderson Grove, Knox Co., Illinois. He married Martha Reynolds July 30, 1802 in Bedford County, Virginia, daughter of Jesse Reynolds and Mary Bright. She was born about 1785 in Bedford County, Virginia, and died June 1856 in Hendersonville, Knox County, Illinois. John and Martha moved from Virginia to Hart County, Kentucky in about 1817, and relocated to Knox County, Illinois in about 1829. My 2nd great grandfather was Jesse Fuqua, third born of thirteen or fourteen children of Joseph and Martha. He was born about 1805 in Bedford County, Virginia, and died after 1886 in Munfordville, Hart Co. Kentucky. In 1826 he married Elizabeth Dawson in Hart County, Kentucky, daughter of Thomas Dawson and Nancy Fitzhugh. She was born about 1813 in Logan County., Kentucky, and died about 1840 in Hart County, Kentucky. After the death of Elizabeth, Jesse married twice again. Various researchers have reported he married Rebecca Terry or Perry and later Bicy A. Jaggers Bostick. Jesse spent most of his life in Hart County, Kentucky, but lived for a while in Elk County, Kansas. According to family legend, Jesse could speak French.
