    1. Re: [FUQUA] Western Kentucky and Southwestern Indiana Fuquas/Fuquays
    2. Hello! Sorry to delay in responding to your e-mail. My Fuquay family came from Bullett County, Kentucky to Warrick County some time in the early 1800's (before 1820.) I descend, I believe, through Isham Fuquay, the son of Henry and Tabitha Fuqua(y). Isham came to Warrick County, had a son named Noah who had a son named William who had a daughter named Rachel who gave birth to my grandmother and two other children. My family left Warrick County in the later 1800's and moved to Evansville, Indiana and lost touch with most of the Fuquays they left behind in Warrick County. I don't know your John Fuquay, but I imagine he is probably related to my Fuquay line. There is a Warrick County website that has marriage, death, census, military, cemetery records, etc. You could probably access this by using a search engine and typing in "Warrick County+Indiana+birth records+census+........" If you can't access this information, let me know and I'll look the web address up for you myself, OK? I know there was a John Fuquay living in Warrick County in the early 1800's, but I don't know if this is the father of your Sarah, particularly since it sounds like your Sarah moved at a later date to Warrick County. It's even possible that the John you mention could be a brother to my Isham or Noah (what dates/decades are we talking about?) I understand that there were Fuquays, too, that came to Warrick County from Illinois (I believe these Fuquays also had been living first in Kentucky.) I haven't gotten all of these folks sorted out, but feel sure they are all related. It would seem that most of these Fuquays descend from the Fuqua line that goes back to early colonial Virginia. Also, Jan Babb, who is a frequent correspondent on this Fuqua internet site may be able to help (far more than me.) She has a much more reliable data/info about Fuqua(y) family members and possibly could tell you how your John fits in to the larger family if you could provide more details to her or others on this family forum. Best wishes!
