This is the note that I have in my references. Both Joseph and Martha were natives of VA. Children info came from Prairie Pioneers of ILL, Vol II, ILL State Genealogical Society. Submitted by Kay Gilbreath and sent to me by Bob Gutermuth. Joseph settled in Knox County ILL in 1829 Hope this helps Terry

I have also been looking at GA and AL census but finding nothing as well.

There was a family in the 1900 Grimes Co, TX census that consisted of Simon Fuqua, his wife Bulah and their children: Seasil (son) and Pearsy (son). In the 1910 Grimes Co, TX census the family went as follows: Simon Fuqua, his wife Beulah, daughter Cecil, son Perry and daughter Gladys. Then in the 1920 census the family reads as follows: Simon Fuqua and his wife Beulah, daughter Galdys and granddaughter, Mildred E O'Brien. Based on this, If Mildred's parents died in the 1918 flu epidemic I would guess that Cecil/Seasil was really a daughter as enumerated in 1910, that she married an O'Brien (sorry I have no idea who that might be) and after their deaths in 1918, Mildred went to live with her grandparents. She was there in 1920. Hope this gives you somewhere to look. Lots of luck, Claire Fuqua in Denver

Hi! In my family book that my Aunt made for me I have a Celia Bondurant that was married to Ralph Fuqua, Son of Ralph Fuqua, and Mother Pricilla Owen. Joseph was born May 4th 1756, married to Ceilia Nov 13 1829. Are we talking about the same time frame? Or do you have any dates at all? SHAR NICKEL

I also made a mental note about Cecilia, but my grandmother was born in 1912 and therefore Cecilia could not be her mother. Both of my grandmother's parents died in the 1918 flu epidemic (like the same day) and she was raised by relatives from an early age. They (her parents) are buried at the Erwin Cemetery. I don't know much about her childhood or history. I have looked at some of LaFayette's siblings and noticed that Mary Frances married John Moody. That is another name that was familiar to me. Maybe her mother was a Moody. I just don't have any idea. Just looking at the time-line, my grandmother would have been born to a great-grandchild of Ephriam, which could include many. Any help would be appreciated.

In Prince Edward Co., VA 1850c Mary W. Fuqua was listed in the household of Dr. Merrit B. and Lucy (Farrar) Allen. By 1860 Dr. Allen is deceased, and Mary W. Fuqua was listed as the head of the household. All three were born in Cumberland County, living in Prospect Twp. Prince Edward. The Allen's daughter Betty married John James Wilson, who is also deceased by 1860, leaving a 2-year-old son J.J. Jr. Does anyone know any of these people? Ann in CA
