My Gr-grandfather was Richard Booker Fuqua, Elias' older brother. He Died in Lyon Co. Ks in 1880. I met a woman by the last name of Rickmon when I was 7 or 8 ( around 1950), she was visiting my grandmother here in Topeka, Ks. Unfortunately I can't remember her first name. I think that I have a picture of her somewhere in a box of old family photos. We moved recently after living in the same home for 25 yrs., so I'll have to do some digging to find it. I hope in the future that we can compare notes on our respective branches of the Fuqua family.
I read a couple postings from 2001 about Silas Watt FUQUA. He was my great-grandfather. The posting said that he had one surviving son with Myra Elizabeth BARE who was named David Watt FUQUA (my grandfather), born 5/15/1902 in Portales, NM. It said that David Watt went on to have three children: Mosy, Leland and Amy. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about any other children he had, but can tell you for certain that he had a son named Morey Wayne FUQUA (my father). I believe that Morey was the only surviving child. Could this possibly have been mistaken for "Mosy"? Just wanted to ask and/or clarify. Morey went on to have Mark and Amie (me). Also: the posting said that the parents of Silas Watt FUQUA were Walter S. FUQUA and Frances. Does anyone know the parents of Walter S. FUQUA and their other children (Walter S.'s siblings)? Any information or input would be greatly appreciated! While we are on the subject, could I ask a favor of those who use the digest. If you could put the subject of the digest entry, instead of just the digest number, in the Subject area, it will help the rest of us to know what the reference is.
