I found that information from lots of sources: obituaries, newspaper articles, family information sent from researchers, death records, cemetery records, census records, etc. No question that it is all correct. Do you know the earlier ancestors? The parents of George Washington Fuqua were Stephen Fuqua and Caroline Gentry. Do you need their info or do you already have it? Claire, now from Tucson

    3. Virgil, I saw your note below and wonder if you could help me with your Fuqua line. I have the following information in my computer, I believe it is correct, would you let me know? Your parents: Virgil Lee Fuqua II and Rose Beatrice Songer grandparents: Virgil Lee Fuqua and Ada Myrtle Price ggrandparents: Thomas J Fuqua and Emma Dee Thurman gggrandparents: William Fuqua and Lydda M Allen Then my BIG question-Do you know the parents of William (who was married to Lydda Allen)? I think they may have been Joshua Fuqua and Jane Tait. If you have this information, please share it with me. I have been looking for the parents of William Fuqua from Drew Co, AR for a long time. Thanks, Claire Fuqua, now from Tucson Source: FUQUA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [FUQUA] Floyd Freeman Fuqua (1901-1979) Floydada TX While I have no proof logic would dictate that somewhere there is a connection. Since Margaret Elvera Lucas was born in Drew County Arkansas, and married a Fuqua. Though the Fuqua was from Texas, he probably meet her through relative living in Drew County. My father was born in Drew County, Monticello to be exact. His grandfather lived in Drew County So there is likelyhood that we are distancely related.

    3. Thank you, Claire. That's the first information I've seen about Susannah's parents. Do you have anything about the birthplaces of any of these folks? I have a note, no verification, that Susannah was born in Logan Co., Kentucky. I gather from the website that a lot of the family came from Virginia, which is where the Griggs landed, too. We've hit a snag as to where our "Immigrant" originated and for a similar reason...records were destroyed. I recently posted a message looking for confirmation that Walter S. Fuqua was the father of Silas Watt Fuqua. However, this is a project I started a few months ago and then dropped. When I looked back at what I had, I realized that I already have that information (although I'm still unsure who Silas' mother was... Ann Pate? Susan Morris?) Anyway, I am actually working on one generation back... does anyone have information on the father of Walter S.? His name was David and he went to Tennessee from Halifax County. I am going to look further into it... but if anyone had a middle initial, or any other interesting tidbits I would love to hear it!

Born sometime in the years after the civil war. Problems is that all known members of the family have died and no one bother to record who, what, where and when. My Grandmother Myrtile had remember after the death of my grandfather in the 50's and she had no interest in keeping track of her previous husband family. She died at the age 103 in the late 90's. The history she could given is now all lost. deew <deew@hiwaay.net> wrote: Do you know if your William Fuqua had a son William Carroll Fuqua?
