Charles Wright Fuqua was the son of Albert Colmbus Fuqua and Nellie Angeline Stevens .Albert died in 1908 in Hamilton Co; Nellie died 1936 in Wise City, Hamilton Co. TX. They were married 21 Dec 1860 and had 10 children. Albert's parents were Lafayette Fuqua and Naomi Bryant. Lafayette's parents were Ephraim Fuqua and Patsy Hewitt. Ephraim's parents were Joseph Fuqua and Celia Bondurant of Bedford County VA. Joseph fought in the Rev. War and Celia obtained a pension for his service. They are both buried in the Fuqua Cemetery in Bedford. Joseph's parents were Ralph Fuqua and Priscilla Owen who also died in Bedford Co. Ralph is thought to be the son of the original immigrant, who some call Guilllaume Fouquet, although his actual name is not known and there is no proof that Ralph was his son. Dear Claire Fuqua-- Thank you so much! Now that I have John Fuqua and Lucy Clayton from you I was able to go back one more generation, and it would appear that John was the son of William Fuqua (abt 1750-abt 1806) of Chesterfield Co., who married Mary ---- (d. Sept. 1809). Their children were: William, Irby, the said John, Samuel, Mary and Elizabeth. Since I seem to be unable to punch back to the Emigre, I wonder if you or someone might be able to give me the lineage from this William to Gill/Guillaum. I guess it's maybe two more generations. Thanks awfully! Hi! New suscriber here. I am trying to determine the ancestry of William G. FUQUA who married Mary F. WOOD. I suspect they lived in area of Chesterfield Co., Virginia in the early 1800's, judging from the dates of birth of two of their children (the only two I have), who were Cornelius Wood Fuqua (who married Mary Lucinda Bailey in 1883) and Eliza Thomas Fuqua (b. 7 sept. 1844 and who married Cincinnatus Brooks in 1877), both in Chesterfield Co. All help greatly appreciated! Regards Mark L. Tunnell
