Hello all, During the past week there have been a number of postings on multiple lists concerning WWI Draft Registration Cards maintained by the National Archives and Records Admininstration-Southeast Region in Atlanta. Unfortunately, the postings contain a number of inaccuracies and as a result, the staff at the facility is being innudated with requests that cannot be serviced. For example, the postings state that photocopies of the cards cost 50 cents when they are actually $10. Secondly, the postings inaccurately state how the records are arranged, therefore, patrons are requseting copies that cannot be properly searched. Please refer to a posting from NARA-SE contained in last nights Roots Web Review for the correct information. Additionally, if you see innacurrate postings on other lists, please refer them to the "Review" for the correct info. Thanks a bunch (from a staffer). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at this address or at work> gary.fulton@atlanta.nara.gov If you would like to request an order form for this record, please write to> archives@atlanta.nara.gov and provide your postal mailing address. It's unfortunate that this event has taken place as our goal at NARA-SE is to provide the best possible service to all patrons. I feel like I should apologize for bringing this to your attention as I know this is an open forum; not established for anything other than the exchange of information and queries. However, many well intentioned genealogists have been mis-informed. As a Fulton, and member of this list, I just wanted to let you all know. Gary
