Hi, All, I am going to try again with this 4th g-grandfather of mine: John H. Fulton b. ?? m. 1816 to Esther Wells d. 1827 Crawford Co., IL I believe John came to IN from NC with the Quakers, including the Wells family, in about 1815. He married Esther in 1816, the year after her family moved to Orange Co, IN. In 1819, they moved to Crawford Co., IL and he died there in 1827, Nov from what I can gather. The Fultons were some of the earliest settlers to arrive in Crawford Co, IL. He and Esther had 4 children: One unknown Mary Ann Lucy Thomas Robert. I believe that John's father's name may have been Thomas, too. Also, family oral tradition holds that these Fultons were related to the Robert Fulton of steamboat fame. Anyone have any ideas where my John H. Fulton's family came from prior to IN & IL? I have no siblings or parents for him, just a hunch that he came from NC with the rest of the Quakers.
