Folks, For those of you NOT attending the Fulton 1999 Reunion at Salt Lake City, I want you to be able to share in some of the excitement of this trip. At the reunion, I will try to organize a LOOKUP brigade by the attendees who are able to volunteer one hour of their time to do LOOKUPs for those not attending. Please notice that this offer is to do a LOOKUP, not research. I ask that you restrict your request to ONE item that preferably is not available at your local Family History Center. Much of the material is on microfilm and you can order it and look at it at your Local Family History Center. But some of it is only available in hard copy form at Salt Lake City, and that is what your request should focus on. We will not look up any item on Microfilm, but only one item available on hard-copy. If an item is on both microfilm and hardcopy, we will look up the hardcopy version, but I suggest you request something that is only available on hard-copy because you may not be able to get it any other way. In my previous note this morning, I outlined how you can use the ONLINE Family History Catalog and the state research guides. Use those directions to find out the call number for the item you want us to lookup. Specify what 5-10 pages you want copied (example: Index on Fulton, table of contents, several pages on the history of the Presbyterian Church at Town ABC, etc.). 1) Send your request to me, not to the discussion list. 2) The subject of the note should be "Salt Lake City Lookup" 3) Specify the Title of the Item and Author and the call number of the item you want us to lookup. Please make sure you list the information of the call number correctly and its location. 4) Specify the 5-10 pages that you want copied. 5) Provide your snail mail address. 6) State the question you are seeking the answer to and provide some general background information of what specific line or individual you are looking for that you feel will be helpful. 7) I will ask each volunteer to spend no more than 30 minutes on an individual Lookup request, including copy time. For example, in the LDS Wisconsin Research Guide, I noticed the listing for an Index to the Early Pioneer Settlers of Wisconsin. My request would look as follows: 1) Title = Some pioneer families of Wisconsin : an index 2) Author = Betty Patterson 3) Call # = 977.5 D22s 4) Location = FHL US/CAN Book 5) Copy Pages = Fulton Names and page numbers listed in the index 6) Snail Address = Roberta Hirth, P.O. Box 384, Harriman, New York 10926 7) Question/General Background Information: (State the question you are trying to answer along with a general description of the family you are researching, or whatever else would be helpful. This can be as long or as short as you wish.) This should be fun !!! Roberta R. (Fulton) Hirth Harriman, New York 10926 FULTON web page at: http://www.frontiernet.net/~elisa96/hirth/fulton.htm
