Fellow researchers: I been quiet, but busy this summer! I finally had a chance to sit down and compile some of the info I've gathered this summer. Will send in several e-mails. Enjoy! WHAT I DID ON MY SUMMER VACATION First, some additional info on my ancestor Jesse Fulton. There were TWO Jesse Fultons in the 1820 Ohio census in adjacent counties which accounts for some of the confusion about his age/children in later years. By 1830 the younger one is gone. I will need to look at land records to see if I can decipher that question. Info for the two Jesse's follows: Jesse Fulton - 1820 Franklin Twp., Coshocton Co. Males >45 - 1 10-16 - 3 <10 - 1 Females >45 - 1 <10 - 1 Jesse Fulton - 1820 Meigs Twp., Muskingum Co. Males 26-45 - 1 10-16 - 1 <10 - 1 Females 26-45 - 1 <10 - 4 and in 1830: Jesse Fulton, Linton Twp., Coshocton Co. Males 60-70 - 1 10-15 - 2 5-10 - 2 <5 - 1 Females 40-50 - 1 10-15 - 1 5-10 - 1 <5 - 1 Possible conclusions: My Jesse Fulton is probably the same person as the older Jesse (Coshocton Co.) in 1820 census, but age for adult female does not fit. According to 1850 census data, Sarah would have been 32 yrs old in 1820 (not >45). It is possible the age was recorded incorrectly - I have found that census records aren't always correct! (I've found some major discrepancies in Meigs Co., Ohio census.) Sarah also had another child, Mary Fulton in 1831/32. Obviously if this is Sarah, she could NOT the parents of all the youngsters in 1830 census if her age is correct. The ages of the male children in 1820 census indicate the older Jesse is the one who married the widow, Mrs. Sarah Jones in Muskingum County in 1815. Previous research indicates Sarah had two sons when she married Jesse, but in the county will index I found these entries: a 1814 entry for John Jones - a will, and in Jan. 1815 there are three guardianship records (all on same date) for John, Samuel and Robert Jones. So did Sarah have 3 sons? Samuel and Robert are mentioned in later info. What happened to John? Sarah and Jesse's children born to this marriage were: Marcus, Joseph, Lewis/Louis, and Mary Fulton. At this point I don't have any idea who younger Jesse is, or if he belongs with older Jesse. This was the first indication I've seen that there were two Jesse's in same area in Ohio at same time. More research needed! More miscellaneous Fulton info I've uncovered recently: Maria (Mary) Eschenbach, b. Jan.3, 1754, d. 1818, John Berndt, John Fulton, ? Amder, and Alexander Fulton. I did some searches on Eschenbach name and found they were primarily in northeast PA, Berks Co., PA, area. To be Continued . . . Lynn (Fulton) England
