    1. JOHN FULTON OF CHESTER CO PA
    2. Forrest Fulton
    3. The Fulton archives has a message from me that points out why I believe John Fulton of Chester Co PA, died 1794, is the son of James Fulton who died in York Co PA in 1772. A summary is: Per Hugh Fulton John born 1713 John was a Fuller John married Eleanore >From James Fulton's Bible which he brought from Scotland and was printed in 1599, there are two births 1714 and 1716. Unfortunately the first names had been completely obliterated by the time W Earl Fulton took the Bible to the York Co PA Historical Society in 1947 where several pages were copied by whatever method there was then. >From James' will we know he had children named John and Janet (Jennet), James, William, Andrew, Hugh and David.. >From the Old Parochial Register, Kilmarnock JOHN FULTON, Dyster in Kilmars from whence he produced a sufficient Testemonial & Helen Ritchmont daughter to umgll (decd) Andrew Ritchmont in this parish both their 1st marriages were booked on friday Jany 10, 1744 after orderly proclamation those Several Sabbath Days were married at Kilmars Jan 1744. William Steven son to Thomas Steven in Crookedholme & JANET FULTON daughter to James Fulton in Mains of Rowallan both their 1st marriages were booked on Thursday 9 Jul 1733. >From the Parochial Records James Fulton (will probated 1772) is known to have moved between Fardall/Fardale Hill just west of Kilmarnock and Rowallan. Rowallan is the local castle and just a short distance from the town of Kilmaurs. Fardale Hill was in the parish of Kilmaurs. Today the city limits of Kilmarnock are about 500 yards from the buildings of Fardale Hill where James lived part of the time. There are three children of Janet's in the parish records, the last in 1737, and six for James. There were no records for John in Kilmarnock, Kilmaurs, or Fenwick. It is possible that after 1737, the Fulton family became members of the Antiburghers. For more detail please check the archives. Irene Fulton
