Reference: Note from David Briggs <BBriggs133@aol.com> Dated: Wed, 2 Feb 2000 16:31:29 Subject: {not a subscriber} Fulton Genealogy Regarding: Mary Fulton (of the Abraham Fulton/Margaret Guthrie line) and husband John McClintock and his first wife Dear David, Since John McClintock and Mary Fulton lived in Licking Co, Ohio, have you checked for marriage records for another wife in that area ? Also since Mary was from South Huntington Township, Westmoreland Co, PA, have you checked the records in that area for this family ? Also perhaps John and his first wife had property they sold and she may be listed in the deed transaction releasing her dower rights. In the book, The Fulton Family of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, 1712-1772-1940, by Ernest Schwartz Craighead, privately published 1940 (available from Higginson Publishing Co) on page 80 it states that Mary (Polly) Fulton daughter of Robert Fulton and Nancy Sloan married John McClintock and was mentioned in her father's will. She is bequeathed $800, one cow, three sheep, one feather bed and bedding, and the use of two rooms in the Mantion House when she is single and can work for herself. In connection with her father's will, she and her husband John McClintock signed an agreement in 1820. The book states it is assumed that she was born between 1789 and 1795. Robert Fulton's will was signed 25 Jan 1820 and proved 13 April 1820 and can be found in Westmoreland Co,PA will book 2 page 16. Roberta R.
