I have been attempting to identify John's first wife who died in Ohio sometime in the early to mid 1800's. Your web site references a marriage between a John McClintock and Mary (Polly) Fulton. Here is some info on John - John McClintock was born in Fayette County, Penn., in 1789. He moved to Ross County, Ohio in 1796 (age 7) and was in the war of 1812. Having enlisted for during the war, he served six months as a substitute, in the meantime helping to build Fort Meigs. In 1841, he came to Wabash County, Indiana, and lived here until 1863 on the farm with his son Joseph. (History of Wabash County, Indiana, 1884) John's first wife died in Ohio and he married his 2nd wife (Elizabeth) in 1848. (History of Wabash County) His son Joseph was born in Shelby County, Ohio, Abt 1822. I would appreciate any information that you may have on this couple that might help me verify that there is a link between my ancestor and Mary Fulton. Thanks very much.
