Fortunately, my grandmother did extensive research when she joined the DAR in 1948. Here's my line: 1) Abraham FULTON (1712, Articlave, Ireland - 1787, Westmoreland Co., PA) married in 1745, at Dunboe Parish, Articlave, to Margaret Guthry (Guthrie) (b. 1716 at Articlave) 2) Robert FULTON (1751, Articlave - 1820, Westmoreland Co., PA) married about 1784, presumably at Westmoreland Co., PA, to Nancy (or Agnes) SLOAN (1754 - 1831, Westmoreland Co., PA_ 3) Abraham FULTON (II) (1794, Westmoreland Co., PA - after 1850, Porter Co., IN) married presumably before 1835, at Westmoreland Co., PA, Jane TURNER (c. 1796 - before 1850, Porter Co., IN) 4) James Sloan FULTON (1835, Westmoreland Co., PA - 1904, Valparaiso, Porter Co., IN) married 1861, Porter Co., IN, Martha HUGHART (1840, Center Twp., Porter co., IN - 1925, Valparaiso, Porter Co., IN) 5) George Leone FULTON (1865, Center Twp., Porter Co., IN - 1941, Frankfort, Will Co., IL) married 1887 at Porter Co., IN, Lucia Mae FARRINGTON (1866, Porter Co., IN - 1936, Chicago, Cook Co., IL) 6) Leilia Pearl FULTON (1897, Chicago, IL - 1973, Frankfort, Will Co., IL) married 1928, at Chicago, Herbert Peter FOLKERS, Sr. (1895, Frankfort, Will Co., IL - 1986, Joliet, Will Co., IL) 7) Frank George Folkers (living) married Jacqueline Fern WEYAND (living) 8) Steven Weyand FOLKERS (yours truly) My father has in his possession a certificate signed by the church elders at Articlave, which states that Abraham and family were of good moral character. It is dated 1772. Have I sent you an invitation to the Folkers and Weyand Family Website at MyFamily.com? It's a private site requiring a password. You can view this church certificate there. I would love to share this with all of Abraham's and Margaret's descendants. It's in the form of an image taken with a digital camera. Do you know if there is any way to post this on RootsWeb? I had no idea that Robert came here before 1770 to "check things out!" Always thought the whole family came together in 1772. I hope this information is of some help to other FULTON researchers.
