Im looking for the parents,wife or any info. on Thomas McKean Fulton b abt 1680 probably in Auguasta Co,VA.He was the father of Margaret Fulton b 1713 in Augusta Co,VA. Margaret married Samuel Steele b 1709 Ireland.Any info would be much appreciated as I know nothing about Thomas. Thanks,April

April - sorry, my answer to your message was sent before I finished it!! Then it just bounced back to me - so I will repeat what I started to say earlier. In a book entitled "Marriages of Some Virginia Residents, 1607-1800", Series I, Vol. 3, compiled and published by Dorothy Ford Wulfect, Naugatuck, CT, on page 66, under FULTON (marriages), she shows ______m. Samuel Steele (no other information) - "Margaret Fulton m. Samuel Steele (2nd wife)" - again no date or where marriage took place. In another book "Virginia Historic Marriage Register - Augusta County Marriages, 1748-1850" by John Vogt & T. William Kethley, Jr. (located in NC State Library), on page 89, shows under "Augusta County Marriages - Man's Name - FULTON - "Thomas & ______ 4 Apr 1751; license only" - on page 288 under "Woman's Name", there are several Margaret Fultons but none listed as daughter of a Thomas Fulton and no marriage shown to a Samuel Steele. There is a two-volume set of books about the history of Augusta Co., VA (name escapes me at the moment) - you might find more about Thomas Fulton or Margaret in those two books (the Library of Congress, and our local genealogy library have them). Next time I am in Leesburg, VA, I will take a look through these books and see what I can find for you. There is a listing in VOL. III, DA Patriot Index, for "Fulton, Margaret - Samuel Steele - II 200" - if you have access to a DAR library, you may find more information about Margaret in this record.
