    1. [FULTON] S. Alfred Fulton
    2. Faye is inquiring about S. Alfred Fulton, who was my grandfather. Yes, the S stands for Silas. My grandfather was born in West Lebanon, Indiana Co., PA, on 17 March, 1874. He was the son of Alexander Hamilton Fulton, b 1840, and Catherine Harbison. The Fulton line goes back to Alexander Fulton and Sarah McDonald who married in Lancaster County in 1774 and lived in Huntingdon County, the family then coming to Indiana County in 1805 after the death of Alexander. Catherine Harbison b 1838 was the daughter of Matthew Harbison and Mary Henry. Be aware that confusion can arise with this line, because the generation before this one also included an Alexander Hamilton Fulton b 1805 who married a different Catherine Harbison. S. Alfred Fulton was a Presbyterian minister, and served in Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa. He married Mary Rodgers. He wrote up his life story, which includes material about his ancestors, and furnished copies to family members. He died in 1966. The Robert H. Fulton (the H is for Henry) who went to Page County Iowa was the brother of Alexander Hamilton Fulton b 1840. Their father was Silas Fulton b 1807, who married Anna Harbison. Silas was the son of Robert Fulton b 1780 who married Ruth Cunningham. Robert was the son of Alexander Fulton and Sarah McDonald. The Rev. Stevenson you mention may be Ross Stevenson 1814-1893, who was born in Strabane,Ireland, came to the US, and served as a Presbyterian minister, Washington PA being one location. He married Martha Harbison, sister to Catherine b 1838. If Faye wants more information on any of these people I would be happy to help her. Mary Montgomery
