    1. [FULLERTON]Welcome to the Fullerton Group
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. https://Groups.io/g/Fullerton Welcome to Groups.io, our new home for genealogical discussions. This is an exciting time with a very impressive website and the opportunity to rekindle our communications and, perhaps, revive research that has been set aside for a time. Diane and I want to encourage you to make us of this group with your brick walls, successes, questions and whatever answers you may have for others' queries. To begin with, introductions are encouraged, including some history about yourself etc. If we can feel like a "family" we might get more out of being here. We definitely do not want to make this such a strict environment that you are discouraged from entering or starting discussions. If you on the Rootsweb list have not yet joined at groups.io, simply click on the link at top of this message and click "Join This Group." We want you to enjoy being a part of this group and to be glad you joined in the first place. If you have other group connections where you may spread the word about us that will be great as well. Looking forward to hearing from you all, Jim "Pops" Jackson and Diane Sowden

    1. [FULLERTON]Notice about Rootsweb Lists
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. This has been received from the Rootsweb administration: Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. As an alternative to RootsWeb Mailing Lists, Ancestry message boards are a great option to network with others in the genealogy community. Message boards are available for free with an Ancestry registered account. Thank you for being part of the RootsWeb family and contributing to this community. Sincerely, The RootsWeb team We are presently setting up email groups at https://groups.io/. If there is interest in migrating this list to groups.io please respond to this message to that effect ASAP. With heavy hearts, Jim and Di

    1. [FULLERTON]Help Keep This List Active
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. We just wanted to encourage you all to make use of this list in your family searches. A large number of Rootsweb lists have been made inactive due to no messages over a period of time. We want to keep as many lists active as we possibly can and your participation will help toward that goal. If you have a "brick wall" in your family search, send in a message with as much information as you have and let's see if someone may be able to help fill in those blanks. Best wishes, Jim and Di

I'm thinking of writing to the cemetery as I am no in the state of PA and have no chance to get there. Maybe they will send more information my way. If you find anything let me know. Dried flowers . Victorian card - cat (name Neil MCKAY written on back) . Poem "Killed at the Ford" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow . American Express Receipt 11 Oct 1896 - Clothing valued at $70.00 Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family: Neil MCKAY was b. 8 Nov 1849 in Balmoral Castle, Scotland to parents Neil MCKAY Sr. (b. Jan 1822 in Edderton, Scotland) and Sarah FULLERTON (b. Mar 1826 in Aberdeen, Scotland). Neil was one of 9 children born to this couple including, Sarah; Neil; Hugh; Emma or Lily; Mary Maria; Josphina or Josephine W.; Matilda Imogen; Fanny; and Flora Violet MCKAY, all born in Scotland and Ontario Canada between 1844 and 1868. Neil married Julia Ann MACDONALD (b. Apr 1850 in Nova Scotia, Canada) in 1874 and together they had three children including, Donald Alexander; Neil C.; and Maria MCKAY. Neil died in Midland, Michigan in 1926. Son Donald Alexander MCKAY born in MI, died in 1912 in MI. Appears that sometimes he was identified in census records and in others as Alexander MCKAY. Son Neil Calvin MCKAY married Cora B. GRIFFIN (b. 1884 in MI to parents Sylvester & Victoria GRIFFIN) and together they had a daughter, Kathryn Jane MCKAY b. 17 Feb 1914 in Midland, MI. Kathryn married William Robert HOPKINS on 6 Aug 1936 in Midland, MI and together they had three children. Neil C. MCKAY died in MI in October 1975. Kathryn Jane MCKAY HOPKINS died 2 Jan 1999 in Scottsdale, AZ. Daughter Maria died in Midland City, MI according to state death records on 13 Nov 1883, though the bible indicates she died a year later. I am hoping to be able to return the bible to a member of this family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or if you know someone who might be. Thanks, Shelley
