The letter is addressed to brother and sister, however, he refers to "Lucretia" specifically in the letter and then at the end notes that the letter is to "L. SAVAGE". There is or was a Beaver Dam in (I think, Rusk County) Wisconsin. The weather would fit, but I am not sure if it was a town or just a dam. Good luck. Curt
