Are there any list subscribers who live in Maryland or close enough to Maryland to do FULLER research at the Maryland Archives? Page 5 - "Early Southern Fullers" states, "There is rumored to be a bulk of uncollated, unpublished material in the form of Puritan and Quaker records still reposing but inaccessible in Maryland archives. Someday other descendants of the ubiquitous William Fuller may be proven." Why are these records INACCESSIBLE? Maryland has a Public Information Act: The Maryland Public Information Act (PIA) governs the inspection and copying of public records held by state and local government agencies. The PIA is similar in some respects to the federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which governs the disclosure of documents held by U.S. government agencies. The PIA requires that its provisions be "construed in favor of permitting inspection of a public record." However, the law also exempts certain records from disclosure. If you are denied access to a record held by a state or local agency, you may ask a court to review whether the denial was appropriate under the PIA. Any records in the Maryland Archives should be ACCESSIBLE under Maryland's PIA Please e-mail a reply if you're able to help or to share any advice. Thanks, Katherine
