    1. Charles and George FULLER
    2. Hi good afternoon It seems I have been "barking" up the wrong tree for my Fuller relations. Instead of Geroge Fuller born 1819 in Fletching Sussex I should have been looking at George born Longslack Hampshire in 1826 of course they both had wives named Eliza but the son Charles who married by Flora is now shown as born in Dublin in 1859. On the marriage cert 1882 George is shown as a clerk. On the 1861 census Eliza is living with the two boys and says wife of Chas (which I think should be George)!, then in 1871 census George is with family and it says Sargt Instr to Volunteers or that is what I can read it as??? in 1881 still with the wife and two boys says Commercial Clerk, and 1891 says Army pensioner and living with sone Charles and wife Flora. Now to my questions - if he was an Army pensioner doesn't that mean he would have had to be a regular soldier? Would soldiers have taken their wives with them and perhaps he went to Ireland and that is why George was born in Ireland. I do not know Eliza's nee name but she is down as born in 1827 in Maidstone so it doesn't look as if she went to Ireland to have the baby with her family because then Alfred was born in 1861 in Kensington which seems to have been the area they carried on living in. How long would it have taken him to become a Sargt. Inst to volunteers (always supposing I have read that bit right!)? any help on these questions from the most helpful people on this list would be much apprecaited. regards Hazel Rees
