In recent days there has been some discussion about the folks who sailed on the MAYFLOWER, both passengers and crew members. Here are some interesting items: Many of you on these Rootsweb mailing lists know that I am researching intensively into both the FULLER & the McLENDON family lines. My husband, JESSE AUTRY FULLER, is a direct descendant of DR.SAMUEL FULLER, who was age 35, (born in Redenhall, Norfolk, England) at the time of sailing of the Mayflower. He was Deacon and Physician in Plymouth Colony and died there in 1633. Jesse's mother, AUTRIE LEA McLENDON, is a direct descendant of DENNIS McLENDON of Scotland, who came to NC in 1696 with his wife, ELIZABETH BRYANT. Both of Jesse's parent's families are rich in history and genealogy. Today cleaning an old bookcase of his mother, AUTRIE FULLER, I discovered a book owned by his father, JESSE MORGAN FULLER, who was born in 1895 in Longview, TX. The book is a first edition printing of "THE PLYMOUTH ADVENTURE." It is chock full of names, dates and places. Jesse's father took the time to make copious notes in the book, detailing his ancestry. In this book, are listed some very interesting names, such as WILLIAM BUTTON, servant boy to SAMUEL FULLER; EDWARD FULLER & his wife, ANN FULLER, & their 4 year old son, SAMUEL FULLER. Ironically, I am also descended from the MAYFLOWER PILGRIMS, in the family of THOMAS WILLIAMS, ancestor to my grandfather, CLIFFORD P. WILLIAMS, born 1897 in Bronx, NY. Following is a list of MAYFLOWER SURNAMES of both passengers & crew: ALDEN, JOHN MULLINS, WILLIAM & wife ALICE & daughter, PRICILLA, & son, JOSEPH BRADFORD, WILLIAM & wife DOROTHY WINSLOW, EDWARD & wife ELIZABETH WINSLOW, GILBERT (EDWARD'S brother) BREWSTER, WILLIAM & wife MARY & sons LOVE, & WRASTLE BREWSTER CARVER, JOHN & wife CATHERINE MARTIN, CHRISTOPHER & wife _________?
