I have spent a lot of time trying to determine this Asa Fuller's parents but now think they were Asa Fuller Sr. b. 1757 in Newton, MA and his wife Betsy Winchester. I wrote yesterday to the Mass. Archives for Asa Jr.s death certificate in hopes that will have his parents' names and will put the matter to rest. He died in 1868 in Roxbury--his wife was from Roxbury and they moved there. If Asa and Betsy were the parents of Asa Jr., they moved to St. Albans, Franklin Co., VT for some reason--he died there intestate but have had no luck gettting anyone to look up the estate file for me to see who were next of kin. These are the Newton Fullers--not the Dedham Fullers or the Mayflower Fullers or any of the other Fullers from Redenhall, Norfolk. The original immigrant of this line was a John Fuller b. 1611 in Lavenham, Suffolk--am hoping some direct male descendants will participate in the DNA project to see if John was related to the other Fullers or if this is a whole other family. Many people have this Asa as the son of Asa Fuller of Dedham and his wife Meletiah Metcalf, but their son Asa Jr. married a Hepsibah Blake and could not have married Sarah Howe. Someone proposed this theory in the Boston Transcript and asked for verification and that is why my family thought it was correct and why I spent hours entering lots of Dedham people into my database until I realized it was impossible. Have seen Asa and Betsy as parents in the IGI but no verification yet. Is anyone else on this list working on these Newton area Fullers? --------------------------------- Yahoo! for Good Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
