I'm not 100% sure she's Lucy Fuller. I thought she was but ran into a census record that seemed to call her Rachel. Or maybe it was the other way around. The only source I had for the name Lucy was an IGI entry from LDS records, which isn't exactly original source. The most likely Lucy Fuller I found was Lucy Maria Fuller b 1824 of Floyd, Oneida, NY. Father Orrin Fuller, mother Lucy Otis. Less likely is Lucy Fidelia Fuller, dau of Louisa Fuller, christened 8/12/1827 at First United Presby congregation in Washington, NY. Also unlikely because of age is Lucy Keziah Fuller b 2/20/1834 of New Hartford, Oneida NY, parents Martin & Sally Lockwood Fuller. Unfortunately, I don't have a real birthdate for Jesse Slawson's wife, and am only sure that she is a Fuller. Their children (so far as I've found) are Seth Holcomb Slawson (my gg grandfather) and Andrew Edmund Hall Slawson. History of Whiteside County IL says, "Jesse Slawson was born in Oneida County NY in 1809 and came to Portland in 1836. He was a carpenter by trade and also followed farming near Spring Hill while he was a resident of Portland. He now lvies in Nebraska. Mr. Slawson married Miss Rachel M. Fuller in 1833." Which would seem to say I'm looking for Rachel and not Lucy. Only IGI said Lucy. On the other hand, the Slawson record seems complicated by the fact that our Jesse Slawson had an uncle named Jesse Slawson.... One census record in IL showed a wife named Rachel (could have been the uncle, of course) and a servant named Lucy... Nothing like knowing who you're looking for.... I guess this is what makes genealogy fun. Jan T (Confused)
