    1. HENRY L FULLER - NY/OH
    2. I am searching for the family of Henry L. Fuller supposedly born December 1, 1834. it is possible his family came from New York and settled in either Medina County or Lorain County, OH. he married Elizabeth Halliwell and had three children Ada,Bertha, and Louis. he was in the Civil War in the 103 cavalry unit from Ohio and was part of the March through Georgia with General Sherman. After the war he went to Missouri in the area of Barry County. He was not in touch with his family in Ohio for approximately five years. His wife had remarried and had three more children. Henry returned to Missouri and does appear to on an 1890 census form. It is not known if he remarried and had another family. Any information on Henry would be greatly appreciated.

Fuller's parents and where he died in Texas. William was with his family in the 1840 census of Bedford CO. TN. He was in the 1850 census of Hot Springs Co. AR. and the 1860 census of Hempstead CO.AR. His first wife was Martha Hastings,b. c1811, TN. An Elizabeth Fuller, age 83,b.NC. was in the his household in the 1850 c. I am assuming this was his mother. She was not living with him in the 1860c. These children were in the 1850c. Elizabeth J.(16)b.TN.,William S.(14)b.TN., Josiah(13)b.TN., Mary A.(11)b.TN., Martha A.(7)b.TN., Lurky Frances(9)b,TN., Robert Henry(5)b.TN.(my Ggrandfather), James A.(4/12mo.)b.TN., In the 1860c. Hemstead Co. AR. Wm.S.,Josiah,Frances,Robert H., and Martha were still in the household and another daughter Nancy L(6)b.TN. This probably should have be AR. for her. His wife Martha died after the 1860 census. Probably in Hemstead CO.AR. because he married again, a Louisa Jane Posey on 22 April 1861 in Hemstead CO. They moved to Texas sometime after that and he was supposed to have had 4 more children with her. Thomas Melton or Milton Fuller,b.1867,TX., John,b.abt.1865,TX., Lou,b.abt1863,TX., and Joe William,b.abt.1868 or 1869,TX. Haven't been able to find him in Texas Census. He was supposed to have died before the last child was born and his wife Louisa Jane was supposed to have died after the last child was born. The younger children were supposed to have been raised by older half brothers and sisters, except the youngest son Joe William was given to neighbors to raise. Does anyone out there have any of these people in their family trees. I have been looking for William N.'s father for 25 years, no luck yet. Would like to find out where the rest of his family lived and died. Thanks for any guidance. Mary --part1_d.53ff67.25b3e3b9_boundary--

    3. Interesting. I live about 8 miles from the stone marker along the railroad where the General was captured. I have stopped and read it a couple of times. Would you like a photo? Perhaps I will drive by and take a picture some time so you can have the Marker along with the engine. When I was a child the engine was housed at the railroad depot in Chattanooga, TN. But then the rebels claimed it and it was taken to Red Top Mountain State Park in Altoona, GA. I understand it is on display there, but have not gone to see it again. I wonder what line of Fullers they trace back to. My own family was in Delaware county New York, at that point I am up against the wall. I think my GGG Grandfather was born in Westchester County, perhaps North Salem, NY, but I don't know who his parents were and am stuck. To answer your question, yes, I would appreciate a picture of the ond "General". Thanks, Forrest

    3. Hi, I don't know any Fullers in Tennessee outside of my own family. My father raised four sons here: George Virley, Forrest LaVerne, Frederick Weldon, and Glenn Arthur. We are all yet living in Tennessee within about 100 miles of Chattanooga. My father was born in Canada and his only brother had no children. So I am afraid I wont be much help to you. Good luck in the search. Forrest

    2. The General has been on display in its own museum here in Kennesaw, GA (formerly known as Big Shanty) since 1972. From the Kennesaw home page (http://www.kennesaw.ga.us/): "On April 12, 1972 the General was officially enshrined in her permanent home in Kennesaw, Georgia...just 100 yards from the spot where she was stolen on April 12, 1862."
