    1. Obituary of William FULLER Jefferson County Journal 1885
    2. odie
    3. Jefferson County Journal May 5, 1885 William FULLER---Wm. FULLER, Esq., one of the highly respected and esteemed citizens of the town of Adams, passed away April 20th at the ripe age of 72 years, 5 months and 25 days. The departure of one who for over a half a century has gone in and out among us calls for special notice. He was born in Whitingham, Vt. His mother died when he was nine years old. When he was seventeen his father, Samuel FULLER, came to this town and located on the farm where his decendants now reside. Here the father died Oct. 4th, 1857, at the age of 82, leaving two sons and five daughters of whom one son, Royal FULLER, Esq., and two daughters, Mrs. Huldah MUNGER of Adams, and Mrs. Miranda WHITNEY of Pulaski, yet remain. William was married Sept. 10, 1837, to Miss Martha KEEP, so well known, loved and mourned by all in this community. With her he lived in happiest conjugal relations until Jan. 18th 1883, the sad bereavement came when she was called through the shining gates of heaven. A clearer faith, a more triumphant departure, is rarely seen. But the blow was heavy for her companion and from it he never recovered. His naturally robust health was already seriously impaired and gradually he failed. The past year was one of intense and increasing suffering, causing him often to long for release. But his strength was equal to his day. In patient endurance all was borne and from first to last not a groan escaped him. His bereavement led him to God for help, his sufferings blessed him to the throne of grace, in the name of Jesus and his prayers were consciously answered. Henceforth he leaned confidingly on God, and lived in prayerful, joyful communion with Him. " I am so happy in the Lord," said he on one occasion. At another time when in an agony of suffering, in response to words of sympathy, he replied "oh, how much more our Saviour suffered for us." His death was calm and peaceful. His familiar form and face and smile we see not. But from the memory and affection of those who knew him he is not gone. To those who cared for him with such untiring assiduity and affection, to those who wept with bursting hearts over his pale face, to friend, neighbor, citizen, all his memory is precious, and he lives above, aye, united they live above. To both the coffin came but the "gates ajar" were close by, and the cross was the entrance. There drawn by cords of blessed memories of the departed and truth and love may we all meet " In the land 'o the blessed."

    1. Census
    2. I found this on another list, sounds good to me! The year 2000 is a Census Year. Most of the census will be taken by mail. After you have filled out your census form why not make a copy of it and file with your important (genealogy) papers. Then your family will not have to wait 70 years to learn about you.

    2. Robin Fuller Blalock
    3. Hello - I know everybody is getting sick and tired of hearing about my Abner Bratcher Fuller but I have NEW information. Does anyone recognize any of this? I believe I have tied these two families together. JOHN BRADSHER b. 1734 m. ? Sarah Garrett ? Children: SARAH BRADSHER, MOSES BRADSHER, probably others. Moses probably had a son named ABNER BRADSHER, or he could be a brother of Moses and Sarah. SARAH BRADSHER married next door neighbor WILLIAM FULLER. Children are generally believed to include : 1. MOSES FULLER of Caswell Co., N.C., b. Feb 19, 1775 married Elizabeth ____ on 3/31/1820. Moses' children I recently posted from the Bible records - John G., William, Rebecca, Susan B. 2. BRADSHAW FULLER b. ca 1790, lived most of his life in N.C., married Susannah Winstead 1818. Many children, previously posted. 3. POSSIBLY ABNER FULLER b. 1770 in N.C. married Elizabeth Hosick on May 2, 1792. Their children include Allen Jones, Thomas, Benjamin, Mary Ann, Matthew B. 4. POSSIBLY OTHER SONS: AARON FULLER, JESSE G. FULLER, ASA FULLER. (These could have been cousins though). Notes: Asa and Bradshaw were bondsmen on each other's marraige licenses. Asa, Bradshaw, Moses, and their father William all owned adjacent land in N.C. Jesse G. and Aaron also signed as witness on many deeds with all these Fullers. My Abner Bratcher Fuller, b. May 25, 1814 in N.C. could be the son of one of the above (not Bradsher or Moses or Abner as their children are known), based on names alone. My Abner named his children JAMES AARON, JOEL ABRAHAM GREEN, AMY F., WILLIAM ABNER, POLLY E. RACHEL MYRA, ISAAC BRATCHER. Does anyone have any input? The above information has not been proven by me. There is some documentation as to land deeds, etc. Most is speculation. Thanks, Robin

    2. To Susan Valis: I would be interested in having you check on an Amos L. Fuller, born about 1823-1825 and his father whose name was Nathan. I believe Amos may have had a brother named Nathan, also. My Fullers supposedly came from Mass. but I have been unable to trace them back farther than Amos. [email protected]

    3. It seems we are in the same boat! Where do we go after the 5th generation? I am still searching for William Henry Fuller, b abt 1847. In 1871, he resided in Jackson Co. Iowa, where he married Mary Binns. They had three children between 1871-1875. It appears that by 1880, he had moved out of the house, and Mary and the children moved in with her parents. I can not find out what happened to him after that, nor can I find his parents, siblings etc. Any of these names or dates sound familiar to anyone! ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 26, 2000 6:08 AM Subject: Josiah Fuller, b. 1748 > Greetings, > > A Josiah Fuller, fifth generation descendant of pilgrim Dr. Samuel Fuller, > was born 31 OCT 1748, Kingston, MA. 1. Samuel Fuller descendant locations
    2. Hi List, Don's posting brings up a more general question that might save me (and others) much needless research. Does anyone know of Samuel's line in CT in the 1700s? "Mayflower Families Through Five Generations", Vol. 10 (Samuel Fuller) and Vol. 4 (Edward Fuller) only list through 5 generations and for some lines LESS. It seems in those 5 generations, Edward's line went MA --> CT and Samuels MA --> MA, NH, and Maine. Since my Fullers were in Litchfield CT in late 1700s, does that rule out Samuel's lines? Or am I looking at this too simplistically? Thanks, Linda Burkell

    3. In doing this thing which we all love, and knowing the way people are today.... I can not help but stop and wonder how many of our family members that we think we are looking for use either their middle name for all legal documents or a nickname....these all being the name of which we have known the individual by or find their name in these legal documents. We have found several family members that in today's world are doing just that... using their initials or middle name as their first. Bill for William Butch for Wesley Dick for Richard So the question we might have at this time is could our Ransom being born in 1797, not be using his first name? Jim

    1. Ephraim Fuller
    2. Kenneth Larsen
    3. Ephraim Fuller, born around 1727, probably in Wethersfield, Connecticut, married to Mary Dunham of the same town. Moved to Berlin, Connecticut (Or, perhaps part of Wethersfield which became Berlin) where he ran Fuller's Tavern, where George Washington met with Rev.War leaders. They had a daughter Mary who was born January 2, 1757 in Berlin/Kensington. She married Benjamin Hart of Kensington/Berlin. Does Ephraim Fuller tie into anyone's line? Ken Larsen
