    3. I agree with what John said. Something you should do before you convert your FTM 2005 file, compact it using FTM 2005. Also go through your Comment/Location field and ensure you insert a semicolon (;) between the comment and the actual place or location name. If the field only contains a comment e.g. many Occupation facts, place a semicolon after the data in the field. This will save you some aggravation once the file has been converted to FTM 2014. If you take these precautions, FTM will be able to separate the two types of data into the appropriate field. Good luck.     3. 2005 is the original, DOS-based program, right? I thought the divider for comment vs. location was the slash /. With the comment listed in front of it. At least, that's what I have in the v. 16 file I still have kicking around.
