It is free. They want you to pay for a "premium" account, and they want you to upload your tree to their web site (where one needs a premium account to view any trees). Thanks for the tip! ~ I didn't think about creating a GEDCOM to see what the count says. If my FTM Tree is corrupt, it is important to get it straightened out before I send up a new Tree to Ancestry. I'm not familiar with Family Tree Builder, but I'll give it a go. My main priority is to keep my data AND media safe. I know that GEDCOM can't export the media, but the Tree structure needs to be secure. BTW, the 'Find Duplicate People' wizard took about three hours. It found 4218 potential matches. More than half of them have a match score of 925 or better, which is good news. Anytime I tried to do this in FTM-2012, the program would fall over. Looks like I've got a job ahead of me ... ... But for the sake of my siblings, cousins and ancestors ....
