There differences in what is displayed; however, FTM 2014 is built on a completely newer data base structure than any of the previous versions. The new version is not only a bit faster but it is also more robust with more safeguards built into it. As a result of these changes and the new data base, the Compact routine does not need to run check as many checks as the older versions. Hope this answers your concerns and explains why the trouble tickets are not being acted on. Thank you BJ. Unfortunately, your information does not remove my concerns. Despite a 'newer database structure' (I am assuming you mean a different database schema), does not eliminate the need for checks. Even the single check that now exists was not included until the first patch to FTM 2014, despite the missing check being identified during beta testing and assurances the checks would be added before release of the software. I have also double checked (GEDCOM export) using software I trust that provides exact information about problems (type and record location). The other software identified a couple of link problems with notes (which when identified I can correct from within FTM 2014, removing those problems in later GEDCOMs) and a couple of link problems with marriages that cannot be fixed from within FTM 2014. Ancestry's cancellation of 'fix tickets' without checking, along with their failure to provide follow-up responses despite promises also concerns me. Please understand that along with other users I am trusting my data to Ancestry's software (FTM 2014). Ancestry has made guarantees that their software (FTM 2014) will function correctly and protect my investment (my data). The impression I am getting from my numerous bug reports and calls about this situation is that Ancestry's representatives have little interest in the situation.
