I'm not sure why you are seeing this as I've never seen this when FTM is opening a file. As others have said, it is from the operating system not FTM. It normally occurs anything a program is making a change to the operating system such as updating or installing a program. Where is you file stored? If the data file is stored in a subfolder under C:\Programs, this is probably the cause. Windows 7 uses the C:\Program folder for executable applications. If the data file is in that folder, it thinks you are attempting to change an application. If this is happening, the best way of correcting this is to 1. Use FTM 2011 to make a backup of the data files including all media items. 2. Create a new folder either separately or if you want under the C:\Documents folder. I suggest a folder named C:\Documents\FTM Data. 3. Use FTM 2011 to restore the backup file to this new folder. This will ensure the links to the media items are changed to the new folder. 4. Once you have ensured the new file is working and correct, you can use FTM 2011 to delete the old data file and remove the link from the Tree list on the Plan work area. That is the only thing I can think of which may be causing this message. The file is in the Documents Library. I did a normal installation of FTM 2011. I accepted everything the program did - i.e. I did not change any folder locations, etc. No other program has this problem.
