    3. It doesn't matter. The USB hub simply acts as additional USB ports on the computer and Windows configures them appropriately. It doesn't know they are all coming through on a single cable. But just to make sure, I changed my external Seagate hard disk from a port to a USB hub. FTM found it but only through the File/Backup/Custom option. I selected it and FTM 2014 successfully backed up my file to the external hard disk.     3. Hooray! I have successfully backed up my file using the Custom Option/Change/Computer/External HD/Backup folder. A piece of cake! lol And all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you to Rosemary, Arnie, and BJ for all your help in solving this problem for me. I learned so much from all of you. I even took some steps into unknown territory and ended up increasing my confidence along the way. Unfortunately I'm the type that always thinks things are more difficult than they really are when just a little logic [which I am not blessed with] helps to ease the way.
