I have had a number of messages posted to my Ancestry.com subscriber account but I don't remember ever receiving an email notification. I normally notice these as "new messages" count on FTM 2014's Plan work area in the Dashboard area. I just looked at Ancestry.com Knowledge Base where it describes the different options for how to contact members. This may explain why some receive email notifications while others such as yourself and me do not. I've copied the information below. As you can see, I exercise the first option and don't receive any email notifications. BJ From Ancestry.com's Knowledge Base; *Connection Preferences* Don't miss out on chances to make important connections with other people who appear to have research interests similar to yours. Just imagine: you could discover a relative you never knew you had. How would you like to be contacted by other Ancestry members? Learn More <javascript:hidePop('whyContactPopup');javascript:showPop('howContactPopup')> Close <javascript:hidePop('howContactPopup');> ** Anonymously through Ancestry's online Messages feature (recommended). This setting ensures that no other member can see your email address or other contact information unless you share it directly with them. Easily view and organize your messages online on Ancestry. Display my email address to other members. Others on the site can view your email address and contact you directly. *Current Email Address:* *[email protected]* change email address <https://secure.ancestry.com/myaccount/changeemail.aspx>. Do not allow other members to contact me *NOTE:* It is highly recommended that you NOT select this option. This will prevent any other researchers with similar interests or possible family members from contacting you. We recommend using the first option above so that others can contact you anonymously through Ancestry’s online Message feature. You may also block certain people <https://secure.ancestry.com/myaccount/cbblock.aspx> from contacting you. On 2/24/2014 6:46 AM, Barry S.
