Thanks for your comments Ken. I too was a teacher and researcher from 1961 to 1999. Got into genealogy in 1996 and after my retirement in 1999 do genealogy just about 24/7. Keeps me busy and also keeps my research skills sharp. I still use FTM-2006/16 but also have FTM-20XX, FTM-2014 being the latest one. It still cannot compete with FTM-16 for speed and capability. I cannot use any links on this list so if you want to see how and why FTM-20XX cannot compete then just go to my homepage as shown below and in the topics section select item#7 then item #4 then #13. I only use FTM-2014 to see what others have on those in my database which is now in excess of 213,000 individuals. Some of the garbage out there is astounding but some give me a hint as to where to look for some sources or other information. That's what makes this List so important to me ... hearing about the ingenuity that exists across the spectrum. At the age of 78, I'm still learning something new everyday. I started a genealogy club at our Del Webb 55+ community and it turns out with my 40 years of genealogy and 45 years of computer experience became the teacher and consultant to my fellow club members. So Lists like this provide good input for me to take back to our club members and help solve all of our issues. After teaching the members what genealogy was all about and how to research, I really pushed everyone to get FTM and to subscribe to Ancestry.com. It took awhile to make everyone believers but finally got there. Based on what I was seeing on this List I convinced everyone to hold off updating from FTM 2011 until the Sync process was stable. When I first saw 2014 stumble I was really disappointed but updated a month or so ago and created some test files so I could test things to the point of recommending the club members to upgrade. We are in that process now. Bottom line keep the good work up in feeding your experiences to this List. I can assure you that you are helping a bunch of old but never give up genealogists. And you can bet your boots that we are at the point in life where we are not bashful about asking for help, critiquing poor product performances and thanking anyone for your generous help.
