I'm sorry but I don't understand the problem. I opened both FTM 2012 and FTM 2014 to the Plan work area. I then maximized both windows. I looked at both and find more space available for the Dashboard in FTM 2014 than in FTM 2012. Unfortunately, the list does not allow images but FTM 2012 limits the dashboard to approximately 1/5 the size of the Tasks work area and it only goes up the right side about 2/3 of the window size. FTM 2014 on the other hand, the dashboard and the Task area are the same width which is approximately 4/5 the width of the window. The Task area is slightly higher than the Dashboard but only about 1/6 larger. The big loser in space between FTM 2012 and FTM 2014 is the Task area. The winners in FTM 2014 are the Tree Sync area and About This Family Tree area, both are narrower but taller and the Dashboard which is slightly shorter but much wider. The Tree selection area has been removed from the static display in the FTM 2014 Plan work area but redesigned into a drop down window available in any work area.
