    2. Thanks to Randy for trying to help with my V16 Web Search problem. I took his suggestion for cleaning out temporary files but it didn't seem to make any difference. A call to Ancestry informed me that I should e-mail since they not longer offer phone support for V16. The e-mail response received from my written query was that I should try to register/register my V16. I did so but that just made things go from bad to worse! Not only did it not solve the Web Search problem but, in addition, I now get an endless loop asking me to register. When I do so again (and again, and again, on & on!), I get an e-mail "Welcome to past.familytreemaker.com" but with each subsequent attempt at Web Search, the same pop-up that I should register! I have my original V16 installation disk and am wondering if it would be helpful to try installing again. However, I have no idea how to go about that as getting it to install on my Windows 7 64-bit machine was a challenge even "back when" and would have been impossible without Courtney's patient assistance. Another concern re uninstalling/reinstalling is how to get my several files (a couple are quite large!) to transfer without an earlier version on my computer from which to migrate the info. Does anyone know if that can be done successfully once the old Version is uninstalled -- or is it possible to simply reinstall over the current V16? ANY suggestions from any of the expert listers here would be MOST appreciated! Very scary the first time it happened. Close and backup your family file. Have you tried cleaning the temp file? If you know how to "run", you can use that OR Go to Start, bottom left corner and in the little box directly above, type %temp%\ftw hit enter. Then go to Organize, select all, hit the delete button on your keyboard. Close that window. Works for me every time. Randy --------------

    3. I failed to mention in my previous reply to you that I have this same problem when I try to do a search on my Windows 7 Ultimate system when using FTM-2006/16. It has been this way since I first installed FTM-16 on it. Reinstalling will not help as it appears that Ancestry.com do not provide the cookie to systems that are older than what they want to support.
