My old faithful workhorse FTM Version 16 has been stable and working perfectly until a couple of weeks ago. It continues to work fine in every aspect except for the Web Search. Sure hope someone can help. Here is what happens: 1. When I click Web Search Resources, it does seem to switch over to start the search but progress with the blue bar stops BEFORE completing one run. 2. It then abruptly switches to a page that shows "Please Wait" just above a box with magnifying glass moving back and forth. Below that are the words "Your search results are being retrieved." 3. Unfortunately, nothing is ever retrieved and that page stays with the magnifying glass moving indefinitely. I've let it run for over an hour with the same result. Previously, retrieving was instantaneous as was merging the selected records. I'm using a Dell Windows 7 Professional laptop with 64-bit operating system, 8 GB of installed RAM. I think it was Courtney who helped me a couple of years ago with the work-around installing Version 16 on my 64-bit machine and it has worked beautifully so that doesn't appear to be the current problem. I tried the usual "fixes" by compacting my FTM, then using CCleaner and defragmenting my computer, turning computer off and on, etc. Best Buy's Geek Squad just did a thorough check and my computer is considered healthy in every other way. I contacted Ancestry.com by phone but was told they are no longer offering phone support for Version 16 but that I might try writing to Ancestry. Was also told that my AOL browser could be the problem and to try Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, etc. Sooo, I tried connecting with Internet Explorer and also with Chrome. Sigh...all to no avail. Web Search seems stuck in perpetual motion trying to retrieve. I'm working on a major genealogy project for a national organization and truly NEED the use of FTM Version 16's Web Search feature. For reasons too complicated to get into here, it is not feasible for me to use a later version so I'm hoping one of you can offer some assistance. Many thanks for any help! Pat
