When I right click on the icon for "safely remove hardware & eject media", I get a list of USB devices to eject, such as my Garmin GPS, a flash drive & my 3 TB Seagate USB 3 drive (drive K). I just click on the device I want to remove, and can unplug it when I get the message that it is safe to remove hardware. In that way it is not a removable drive while the system is running. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Arnold E. All memory sticks are classified as USB devices. The external hard disk is classified as a USB + SCSI device. The designation as a SCSI device causes FTM to not list it as removable. Not the best logic but that seems to be the difference.
