    1. [FTM-TECH] Creating a filtered GEDCOM file
    2. Jim Hoke
    3. Thanks for the very helpful suggestions. As Rosemary said, her instructions are "time consuming, tedious, and error prone". But they work! I followed the instructions to create the filtered GEDCOM file, then did one additional step. I used Microsoft Word to remove the notes, sources, and repositories from the file. Because these appear all together at the end of the file, it was a straight forward thing to do. Thanks again, Jim From: Jim Hoke [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, February 27, 2014 12:01 PM To: FTM-TECH mailing list submission Subject: Creating a filtered GEDCOM file Using FTM 2014, is it possible to create an FTM file that only has a limited number of facts in it, such as those related to each individual's name, birth date, and death date? That is, I would like to create a subset version of my FTM database in which all facts beside such things as name, birth date, and death date have been removed. I can't figure out a way to do this in FTM and haven't been able to find a GEDCOM editor providing such a capability. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim
