The short answer is No, there is no way to have the Family View on the People work area, show the extended family. The purpose of the Family View and the Pedigree View is to offer a visual method for navigating between ancestors and descendants of the focus individual. As you click on an individual within the Family View, the information for that person is displayed in the panels on the right and center bottom but always from the perspective of the focal family or branch. If you want to change the perspective, you must click on the miniature boxes to the left of the individual. The only way to get an overall view of the entire data base is to use the Extended Family Chart in the Publishing work area. Hope that answers your question.
