    1. [FTM-TECH] FTM 2014 after update to version 22.0.0.1260
    2. Chris Bauman
    3. I'm running 2014 on a Dell laptop, 4GB memory, Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit. Some time in the last couple weeks I performed the update, but ran into a problem with the program not opening afterwards. I uninstalled it, reinstalled in from CD, and re-ran the update. That time it seemed to work without a problem. Today I started a new file for a cousin's line, entering everyone by hand. There are less than 20 individuals in this file. But while entering data, I noticed that the mini-tree at the top of the people, person view is completely screwed up--sometimes. I have Patrick selected, and his facts show up correctly at the bottom of the screen. However, he's unmarried, and a name (his own!) shows up in the spouse box in the mini-tree, with his brother's name in the child spot. If I click over to the tree view, he is selected correctly as a child in the child list in the family panel, with his father as the selected person in that view. I probably got over to the person view by double clicking Patrick in the child list. If I select Patrick up in the tree area in tree view, and then click over to the person view (or double click on him in the tree area), he has no spouse and no child--as it should be. Yes, I've compacted the file, and it doesn't change anything. And it behaves the same regardless of which child I choose, or who happens to be the parent selected. So it seems that double clicking on one of the children from the list takes you to the correct spot on the person tab, but the mini-tree doesn't get updated correctly. Their name seems to be inserted in the primary slot, but the spouse and child slots don't change. The parents do seem to update correctly. I have not checked it on any other file. Frankly, I can't tell you if this behavior existed before. Depending on what I'm doing, I move through my trees differently, so perhaps I've never hit this combination before. So if this issue came up earlier, and I just forgot that it's already been discussed, I apologize. It was just a little disturbing until I figured out what seems to cause it , so I can avoid the problem going forward. Christine

    3. I tried to follow your explanation of the "error" you see. I found that with a family in the center pane of People workspace, Tree view that single left clicking on a child in the bottom center pane would bring up that child's info in the rightmost column, but leave the parents unchanged in the upper center. Yes this is version 1260 here. John Okerson Lakeland, TN

    3. That's one of the more annoying idiosyncracies of FTM 2014. I reported it during beta but "it couldn't be reproduced". Report it again. 3. Ok, so it's not something new, just something that I'm noticing because I'm processing data differently. I'll report the error.
