George, If your primary files are in FTM (as mine are) there shouldn't be any problem with deleting the old ones and uploading again. I've found it's safest not to do anything with them until all the media have been loaded (happens in the background after the tree is created - but then, I don't have a lot of media). The only fly in the ointment is if you have given other people guest privileges to those old trees in which case you will have to invite them all again. For myself, I wouldn't delete them yet. I would upload to new trees and make the old ones private and unindexed until such time as the new ones are exactly what you want. I just give my trees different version numbers if I have to do this. One is v4, another v3, and a much newer one v0.
