Once you leave a field by clicking Enter or using the mouse to select another field, FTM immediately writes the contents of the field to the data base. I'm not sure why FTM occasionally loses some data previously entered. It warns you the data base may not have been closed properly and that may have resulted in the loss of some data in the process of being transferred to the disk. While this may happen, it is extremely rare. I think you have resolved the problem with the data base so I don't think your closing and reopening the data base is necessary. BJ
