John, if you are accessing Ancestry.com documents via FTM, you will not have the Save to Computer feature. You can merge the document to your FTM file, but that is all. And that will save the document to your FTM file, but it's not what you're looking for. The Save to Computer option is available only if you go to Ancestry.com via your web browser. It is completely separate from FTM. I hope that answers your question, Judy in Ocala > On Mar 3, 2015, at 11:15 AM, John Yates via <ftm-tech@rootsweb.com> wrote: > > All I know is that I have until this latest FTM Mac 3 version been able > to save a record image to my computer in a LOCAL DISK FILE. I went to Ancestry.com and tried to find the record I wanted via a search mimicking the FTM green leaf search. I was unsuccessful in finding the record I wanted, that the green leaf found. So, I went to the green leaf and got to the image I want via its web search. When displaying the image, I saw a url in a box. It is an ancestry.com url. Here it is (shortened): http://tinyurl.com/onz5xhv When I display this in Firefox, I only get the two options: Save to person in your tree (which is the on line tree) Save to your shoebox I do not see "Save to your Computer". However, in my failed attempt to find a record directly in Ancestry.com, I did see a record that had an image. I clicked on the image to display it, then on SAVE. FOR THAT IMAGE I saw three options. The two above, and "Save to your Computer". So Ancestry gives different options for different records. Wonderful! If someone wishes to duplicate this, here is the individual for which a green leaf should pop up: John \Van Sandt\ b. 1726 Cape May, New Jersey d. 1820 Lower Bank, Burlington, New Jersey m. 1787 The green leaf in question is: US Sons of the American Revolution Membership Applications 1889-1970. So my question is: How do I find a "Save to my computer" button for this specific record that will download both pages of this app? Or, how do I find a right-click "Save Image..." that works for each of the two pages. Meanwhile, Apple has saved the day by providing a capture screen that I have currently used for each of the two pages. Brain dead, but it works. Unlike anything I've been able to get to work with Ancestry's FTM. John and yes, Ancestry support is being cc-ed on my messages. I consider this a serious bug.
