I now tried the Merge business. I displayed the record I wanted, went through Merge, allowing FTM to pollute my person record with its nonsense, and sure enough it did save the media image of the page. Next test will be to uncheck everything so it doesn't pollute my person records and see if the media still is saved. But, I had to discover where the media was saved in the FTM tree in order to copy it to where I want it on my computer. So many unnecessary steps! When will "SAVE TO MY COMPUTER" be brought back???? However, there is now another fatal problem. The document I found and want to save is a part of a many page document. So the merge save saved only the first page of what I want. So I clicked the right arrow for the second page. Went through the merge again. It saved the previous page again!!!!! Not the page that was displaying. Not the page that I needed. I repeat, when will they bring back "SAVE TO MY COMPUTER" which worked fine for me until recently? The only thing I have been able to do is to display the image on as much real estate of my 25" screen as possible and do an Apple Screen Capture. Thank you Apple!!!! This, of course, works fine for both pages. But resolution suffers some. And this would not be necessary if they would just bring back "SAVE TO MY COMPUTER". Why does Ancestry leap backward sometimes with their "advances"? John On 3/3/2015 8:08 AM, H R Worthington wrote: > Web Merge is NOT for online tres. John, The SAR and DAR records are not available as "Save to Computer" at all. This is part of the contract that Ancestry has with these 2 organisations. Other databases (collections) also have these restrictions. I have to use a snipping tool to get these saved locally. SAR and DAR want you to pay them for the images. Ancestry isn't the only major genealogy site with these restrictions in place. FamilySearch has restrictions on some collections that limit access unless you are at a Family History Centre. Once again the owner of the collection wishes to be paid for access. Kent Parish Registers are one example. Rosemary On 3/3/2015 10:40 AM, John Yates via wrote: > I now tried the Merge business.
