    1. [FTM-TECH] Source template output problem
    2. Chris Bauman via
    3. I'm in the process of "re-doing" all the sources in my file(s), using the Templates to keep the sources consistent. I would like the end results to follow the parameters in Evidence Explained . This morning I'm working on a wedding invitation I have. I chose the Artifact (Private Holding) template, but I'm perturbed that the reference note created doesn't follow the reference note format in EE . In the Edit Source screen, I originally put my Surname and Forenames (for compiler) in the appropriate fields (Surname is required), and a title (wedding invitation) in the Artifact Type, plus myself and my address in the other fields. The Source gets created and shows up in the Source Bibliography leading with me as the compiler (which is ok). But the reference note lists compiler name first, followed by the artifact type, with the rest of the information correct. Page 139 of EE indicates the reference note should begin with the Artifact Type, followed by Surname & Forename (or a collection name), and the rest of the info. But FTM (2014, build 1345 running on Windows 7) creates the Reference Note those items reversed. If I change the Surname field to "Bauman Family Collection" it reads a little better, but obviously that still doesn't change the order. I realize I can rework the reference note wording, but I don't want to/shouldn't have to do that each time I use that source--it could be weeks or months between the times I'm entering an artifact like that, and I don't want to have to remember to reword it every time. Has anyone reported this as a problem? Or found a different Template that will put the Reference note in the right sequence? Thanks! Christine, IBSSG Life's short . . . do genealogy first!

    3. Chris, IF you go to Select a Source Template, I guess you selected Archives and Artifacts for the Category What did you select for the Template ? Russ ___________________________ Mailto:rworthington@att.net
